Preston Sharp Coming To Idaho To Honor Veterans

Boise, Idaho (02/12/2018) – 12 year old Preston Sharp will be at the Dry Creek Cemetery on February 17th in Boise, Idaho to pay tribute and honor Idaho Veterans during his Veterans Flowers and Flags state challenge.

“We need to honor veterans everyday and not just on a Holiday.” said Preston.

The event will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 beginning at 9am (Volunteers will begin arriving at 8:30am), and end around 1pm (or until done). The address for Dry Creek Cemetery is: 9600 Hill Road, Boise, Idaho. The media/press are invited to attend. Please look for signs regarding parking and access.

“The event will being with speeches by cemetery coordinator David Fisher and Preston Sharp, instructions will be given on the proper procedure, and how to place the flag and carnation.  There will also be a Color Guard, and playing of Taps. Everyone will be divided into approx. 20 groups to place flowers and flags on the over 3,031 headstones”, said Tammy Nichols who is helping in coordinating the Idaho event.

Preston came up with the Flag and Flower Challenge to get everyone in the US to honor veterans.  Preston has now expanded his goal to honor veterans in every state. He has completed California, Nevada, Oregon, Virginia, and Florida.
